Following news of Josh Allen and Hailee Steinfeld’s engagement, the next question becomes obvious: So, when’s the wedding?
The Buffalo Bills quarterback, 28, announced the big proposal news on Friday, November 29, which happened during the team’s bye week on November 22.
As the team returned to the field on Sunday, December 1, for the Bills’ snowy showdown with the San Francisco 49ers, NBC sideline reporter Melissa Stark said Allen was “all smiles” during a pregame chat at Buffalo’s Highmark Stadium.
Stark, 51, reported that Allen said the proposal happened in Malibu, and Steinfeld, 27, was “very” surprised when Allen dropped to one knee.

As for a wedding date, Stark said “they haven’t set anything yet” and added the couple is “still figuring out” the best timeframe.
After the game, a 35-10 victory for the Bills, Allen told Stark about a broken play in the third quarter that miraculously resulted in him throwing and catching a touchdown on the same play.
“I threw a bad ball,” Allen explained. “I was worried it was going to get tipped up in the air and picked, so I was just kind of chasing it. I made eye contact with [Bills wide receiver Amari Cooper], he’s a vet. He saw me put my hands out and tossed it to me, and I had to make a play.”
The play, which will live on in highlight packages for eternity, seemed to even befuddle Allen himself.
“Is that how they score it?” Allen asked Stark. “I get a passing and a receiving [touchdown]?”
“You do,” Stark answered. “That’s pretty cool,” Allen said with a laugh.
The Bills return to action Sunday, December 8 against the Los Angeles Rams at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.
As for Allen’s off-the-field excitement, the engagement news was celebrated by many of the couple’s famous friends in the comment section of his post.
“Amazing news!👏,” wrote actress Elizabeth Banks, who directed Steinfeld in 2015’s Pitch Perfect 2.
Actress Bailee Madison, a longtime friend of Steinfeld’s, gushed about the big development.

Allen and Steinfeld have been dating since May 2023.
