Prince William, Kate Middleton Reveal Poignant Wedding Anniversary Plan

Prince William and Princess Kate Middleton are going back to where it all started for their 14th wedding anniversary.

The Prince and Princess of Wales will mark their anniversary with a two-day trip to Scotland on April 29 and April 30.

The couple first met as students at the University of St Andrews in Scotland, where they both studied art history in the early 2000s. They married at Westminster Abbey in London on April 29, 2011.

William, 42, and Kate, 43, will celebrate and connect with the rural communities in the Scottish Highlands on the Isles of Mull and Iona, Kensington Palace announced on Tuesday, April 22.

The couple will begin their trip on April 29 by visiting the town of Tobermory on the Isle of Mull. There, they’ll tour an artisan market inside Aros Hall, a local community hub, and meet with some of the town’s arts and crafts creators. They’ll later visit a newly developed croft — land used for agriculture — to learn more about sustainable production and the hospitality industry on the Isle of Mull.

On April 30, William and Kate will visit the Isle of Iona, where they’ll meet with rangers from the Mull and Iona Ranger Service, who are tasked with protecting the local surroundings and conserving the isles’ natural environment. They’ll also meet children from a local school group to learn more about the birds, mammals and plants that inhabit the Isle of Iona’s ancient forest.
