Brewing your morning coffee can be more than just a routine – it can be an art form. Aarke’s new Coffee System is designed to enhance the coffee-making experience by delivering a precise, consistent brew while adding a stylish, modern touch to any kitchen.
The Aarke Coffee System includes the Aarke Coffee Grinder and the Aarke Coffee Maker, which can also be purchased separately. The optional Aarke Thermal Jug, available at an additional cost, complements the set but isn’t essential to the core brewing process.
“To us, the most important part of the design process is also to reach a ‘synthesis’ – one cohesive design idea that solves all problems in an elegant way,” says Carl Ljungh, co-founder and chief designer at Aarke. “Our design philosophy comes from a deep curiosity about people’s everyday routines. When we start by observing routines and identifying what’s missing or what We try to create products that put a It’s why we obsess over every element, from the texture of a button to the feel of a handle – these details make all the difference.”
The brewing process starts with the Aarke Coffee Grinder, designed to grind beans to your desired texture. Its adjustable size dial can handle everything from fine espresso grounds to coarse cold brew. The grinder features 64mm flat burrs and a constant motor speed to ensure consistent results.
Once the coffee is ground, the Aarke Coffee Maker takes over. Built for both durability and hygiene, it can brew a full jug in just under six minutes. Designed to extract maximum flavor from any beans, the Coffee Maker also offers an optional blooming function, which pre-wets the grounds to enhance the aroma and richness of the brew.
While the grinder and Coffee Maker work well independently, they connect for an even better experience. When paired, the Coffee Grinder automatically calculates the right amount of beans based on the water in the Coffee Maker’s tank, while the Coffee Maker adjusts its power for optimal brewing temperature.
“Functionality is everything for us – it’s where good design starts. Aarke is all about making functionality elegant,” says Jonas Groth, co-founder and chief designer at Aarke. “In the case of the Coffee Maker, the goal was to keep it as simple as possible for the user – that is why it only has one button. All the complexity, all the smart features are built inside, so the user doesn’t need to think about it. It just works, perfectly and seamlessly.”
The Aarke Coffee System isn’t just about performance – it’s also built to look and feel premium. Both the Coffee Maker and Coffee Grinder are made from stainless steel, chosen for its strength and elegance. The optional Aarke Thermal Jug, made from the same material, complements the set aesthetically.
“The choice of steel as the main material absolutely serves a purpose. For us, stainless steel isn’t just a design choice; it’s integral to the structure and performance of our products,” continues Ljungh. “While many brands might cover plastic with stainless steel for aesthetics, we build from the ground up using steel. This allows us to minimize the use of plastic and create slimmer, more elegant designs. This is because metal has a better strength-to-weight ratio, meaning it can better withstand stress without breaking or deforming, while also being light and easy to handle.”
The Aarke Coffee System, including the Coffee Grinder and Coffee Maker, is available for $758 here. The separate components – including the Coffee Maker ($379), Coffee Grinder ($379), and Thermal Jug ($99) – are available here.
